Week Two…

We’re wrapping up week two with a flurry of decisions and actions!  I sit on the Appropriations Committee and we’ve been through a lot of presentations and requests.  I also sit on the Appropriations Joint Sub-Committee for Judiciary, Law Enforcement and Justice.  We’ve been listening to Corrections this week and last, and will be going into executive session next week to finalize the sub-committee’s budget recommendations.  As you know the budget is facing at least a 120,000,000 shortfall, with a good chance that it will be at least double that when the numbers are all in, so budget cuts are the name of the game.
