I am your Representative for Montana House District 7. As a conservative Republican, I believe that for too many years, we’ve given away our responsibilities in managing our businesses, our taxes, and our personal freedoms. I’m part of the team who is working to give independence back to the people of Montana. I am working for smaller state government through the removal, reduction, and consolidation of state agencies; the removal of the business tax and the equipment tax; and removal of regulations that have little or no return for our lives and businesses. Instead, I want our dollars to be earned in our communities, spent in our communities, and re-invested in our communities. My life is focused around serving God, spending time with my family, and running our cabinet shop. You may also catch me fishing for bass in the summer and whitefish in the winter, and bow hunting for elk and deer in the fall!
My wife Joyce and I are the owners R & J Enterprises, a cabinet shop that, like our home, is located in House District 7. We build custom cabinets, mantles, art pedestals, and will do any sort of project that folks need. Because I live and work in House District 7, I have first hand knowledge of the concerns of my neighbors and the people in our District. I believe in the sanctity of life, and have seven grandchildren ranging in age from newborn up to five years old. I am working to protect our personal rights in our faith, our families, our schools, and the use of our resources and properties.
I’ve spent 38 years serving America as a volunteer and career firefighter, and I retired as the Fire Chief of Kalispell Fire Department in 2008. As most firefighters, I’ve also been a business owner on my days off duty, including owning a hog farm for nine years, and doing construction all my life! Because of my public responsibilities and my business knowledge, I have the needed experience in what government should be, and certainly understand what it shouldn’t be.
